Al-anwar used to be a city, used to be large, but hard to tell based on destruction that time has ravaged across it.

Jann live in a fortified mosque. The warn that out in the rest of the city, they can't guarantee safety, and wells still exist, but are often guarded by creatures needing water.

All manner of things they've seen throughout the city include:
They don't worry about much danger.

They know the last expedition that came here set up from the ruined temple of Azalteen, bringing all sorts of gear with them for that purpose.

They penetrated the outer sections, but went crazy worshiping a large black idol of a kind.

The Jann have never gone in, and bluster about it. Al-Anwar became abandoned for a reason, but the Jann aren't interested in tempting fate.

Strange hermit lives in the ruins as long as the Jann have been there, and he seems strangely unaffected by all that is going on; even if there IS a magical curse. One old man alone in the ruins SHOULD be dead, but he seems to be alive, so there's something's strange about him.
